Awards Dinner Dance - This community social event is the time when recognition is given to certain people and/or entities that have had a positive affect on the community.
The awards are:
- Business of the Year (must be a Chamber member)
- Citizen of the Year
- Educator of the Year
- Service Organization the Year
- Chamber Member of the Year
This event is a social time to relax and enjoy a good evening with friends. The affair is semi-formal, includes music, cocktail hour, dinner, and presentations.
The Committee for this prestigious affair begins meetings in August and meets at least once a month to begin, and as the event date gets closer there are more meetings. The committee is responsible for soliciting nominations, contacting nominees and requesting information about them. Then arranging a time for the Board of Directors to review and select the nominees, notification of winners and contacting those not fortunate enough to win that year, news releases, invitations, commemorative book ads. A critique meeting after the event winds up the work for that year.
Women in Business Luncheon - The relaxing and entertaining luncheon is an opportunity for some casual networking. You’re also showing a little appreciation for the “support” staff you may have. This committee starts work in January for the end of April event. A large part of the success of the event is the Chinese Auction, therefore many area businesses are contacted for donations. The committee also plans on an item for each attendee to take with them.
Golf Outing Event & Committee - This committee begins to meet in March to plan the format of the Annual Golf Outing Event. Monthly meetings are held throughout the event and wraps up in August with a final meeting to review the event.
Annual Membership Dinner & Meeting - At this meeting election of Directors takes place for the upcoming term of office (usually 3 years). There is a speaker, and the Chamber President has an opportunity to highlight the year’s activities. This committee plans the event, entertainment, sponsors, and a thank you item for each attendee. |
